Trama del Film

Alex Cutter torna dal fronte privo di un occhio, una gamba e con dentro ancora l'inferno della guerra. Neppure l'alcool e l'amore della sua famiglia sembrano placare la sua disperazione, fino a quando un amico non ritrova il cadavere di una ragazza in un vicolo. I sospetti ricadono su un magnate del petrolio, ma Cutter, non convinto della sua colpevolezza, tenterà in tutti i modi di scovare il responsabile, imbarcandosi in una crociata alla ricerca dell'assassino, assieme alla sconvolta sorella della vittima e a un nuovo amico...
